In order to strengthen the administration and law enforcement in the transportation industry and further standardize the order of the transportation market in the city, Beijing Municipal Transportation Law Enforcement General Team was established on August 2, 2000 approved by Beijing Municipal Committee for Establishing Government Organizations in accordance with the principles of the organization restructuring. In September, 2003, Beijing Municipal Government endowed Beijing Municipal Transportation Law Enforcement General Team with the main body qualification of transportation administration and law enforcement.
